The Maryland Transportation Authority Police apparently noticed the ship losing power and rushed to block off traffic before the ship hit.

They also noted there was a work crew on the bridge and looks like they made initial notifications to try and warn the foreman of the crew. Sadly, they obviously weren't successful per scanner traffic.

Now that I know how to build mobile applications, I think I'm going to try my hand at building a better SDR Android app.

The ones I've tested work okay, but all seem to have some fairly major user experience flaws.

If you use an SDR (things like rtl-sdr) on an Android phone or would like to, what features would you like to see? What things need to be done better than other applications?

37y as a #radioamateur and only now I buy my first dedicated scanner 🤷🏼‍♂️😂

I plan to use it solely for air band traffic - I have handheld transceivers which will do that as well, but not at the same scan speed: this puppy is FAST, scanning 80 channels / second 😃

Programming channels is easy and quite intuitive from the keypad and the large display is really nice 👍🏼
