Retro-Konsole: Start von Anbernic RG477V soll kurz bevorstehen https://www.computerbase.de/news/gaming/retro-konsole-start-von-anbernic-rg477v-soll-kurz-bevorstehen.95213/ #Anbernbic #retrogaming #handheld #retrohandheld
One of my goals today is to get all of my game rooms organized on my portable hard drive and then get an sd card set up to use with my retro handheld device. It’s gotten kind of disorganized lately and I briefly tried to use Rocknix on it and decided I’d rather just use the default android OS that comes with it instead.
Meine Mutter würde gerne mal wieder #Tetris spielen, aber in der #Gameboy Version, also keine modernisierte Quatsch Version, auf ihren Original Gameboy kann sie leider nicht mehr genug erkennen.
Was sollte ich machen.
Got myself a used #POWKIDDY #RGB30 #RK3566 #RetroHandheld as a VERY belated birthday gift for myself! People seem to largely get this type of device for retro emulation but I am just as excited for #portmaster and #pico8 in a handheld form factor!

New video! Here is my final review of the Anbernic RG476H. It's one of their best-ever handhelds, but whether it's worth buying will really come down to what you want to play, and what you already own. https://youtu.be/cCx4BpIrTRY
Retro-Handheld: Details für Anbernics RG476H offiziell enthüllt https://www.computerbase.de/news/gaming/retro-handheld-details-fuer-anbernics-rg476h-offiziell-enthuellt.94282/ #Anbernbic #retrogaming #handheld #retrohandheld
Ordered an Ambernic CubeXX to have something that will play Pico8 content with the minimum amount of fuss. I have an RG 280V, but after a lot of attempts I can't get native Pico8 binary support working, and the emulators don't play everything.

After the newest version of #MuOS (PIXIE) just would not boot at all (checked MD5, downloaded fresh img, re-flashed SD card, did all that multiple times,...) I finally decided to grab the previous version (AW BANANA) and flashed it using *Balena*, which they EXPLICITLY don't recommend...
... and my new #RG40XXV finally boots into MuOS!! 🎉 so far it feels better in the hand than the RG353V (RIP 🪦) it replaces.
So I recently stumbled upon @binarydigit 's awesome website, which rekindled my interest in setting up something similar. For me it would be a simple blog where I share stupid and silly stuff, like "which #retroHandheld do we like" or "my #PopOS did a weird thing and here's how i fixed it". Like the #web of yore.
I've bought a domain and am going to use a static site generator. I'd worked with #hugo before but am going to try #Jekyll, for giggles.
Will post updates here 😅
New video! Let's talk about how to reduce motion blur on 120Hz (and higher) displays, using tools like Black Frame Insertion (BFI) and the CRT Beam Simulator shader. It will give your screen an awesome CRT-like effect: https://youtu.be/d2GS7wDa2XI
This handheld can transform from a regular handheld to a two-screen contraption. Here is my review of the ONEXSUGAR and all the crazy engineering they put into it: https://youtu.be/DLRKYoReFI0

Here is my final review of the AYANEO Pocket S2: https://youtu.be/Vtk_rlyO6t8
It's a well-built, premium Android handheld that fixes all the issues I had with the original -- it's one of the best they've ever made. But as always, that premium experience comes at a cost ($440+).
Retroid released a cheaper version of the Retroid Pocket 2 Flip with the MediaTek Dimensity D1100 (same chip as the RP4 Pro). Let's explore whether it's worth saving $30 at the expense of emulation performance: youtu.be/CxLZ1uOsVXM
New video! We're over halfway through 2025, so here are my favorite handheld releases so far. https://youtu.be/jJRVCQMzo-U
Somehow someone has decided that making a #RetroHandheld in a ruler of all things was an idea that needed to be done.
Enter the 'Retro Ruler'!
𝘕𝘌𝘚, 𝘚𝘕𝘌𝘚, 𝘎𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘉𝘰𝘺, 𝘎𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘎𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝟪 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘤 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘴. 𝘗𝘭𝘶𝘴 𝘋𝘖𝘖𝘔 𝟣𝟫𝟫𝟥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘴 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵
Then there's the problem for every teacher in schools:
𝘖𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝟨𝘮𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘬, 𝟤-𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦, 𝘜𝘚𝘉-𝘊 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨. 𝘍𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘭 𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘦.
#gaming on something this un-ergonomic though looks like severe hand-pain to come
Interesting.
The nephew of the inventor of the ZX Spectrum, Grant Sinclair, has shown off an amazingly thin #RetroHandheld he's made and called GamerCard.
It's 6.5mm thin, and powered by a #RaspberryPi Zero 2W and has a 4" 60 FPS, 254 PPI LCD display.
𝘎𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺-𝘵𝘰-𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘥 𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘳—𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘪𝘻𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭 𝘨𝘪𝘧𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘥
Honestly, with how thin it is, and the boxy #design, I don't hate it. At all. But the price is way too high, at £125.00 ea.
