We are six months into my plan for moving away from #cart and #cloudflare and #google on the website, now #email and #Windows are on he chopping block.

📚️ Azahar is a libre, multi-platform single player/multiplayer (local or online) Nintendo 3DS console emulator in development. It is the result of a merger of the Lime3DS project and the Citra fork of PabloMK7 (which have now been abandoned in favor of this project).

while trapped under a cat I played some #ketsui death label. got two new EVAC reports and unlocked part of the Trafalgar and Seahorse artworks! I love the silly achievements like "fly into the enemy and die". I forgot about that one.

I also got a new high score. I haven't played in about a year so I'm amazed how much muscle memory was still there.

one day I'd like to buy the special cartridge and dvd for it but it's nearly $300 now on eBay.

Our 3DS said "No. You may not continue". But that did not stop us.

In the spirit of what our best in 2011 looked like, here is what our worst in 2026 looks like. Deliberately messy and with glaring mistakes (even if with a layer of polish that mayhaps has ruined some of it's charm).

It took us 15 years, but compared to how our earliest archived drawing... We can confidently say... We got there.

If we could send this to our 2011 selves. They would absolutely not believe that: 1) we'd have a 3DS of our own. 2) We'd be drawing on it. 3) We actually got "good" but in a completely different way they expected. Not artstation level hyperreal ultrarendered airbrushed pictures... But flat coloured pictures made in about 8 hours that look appropiately round and floofy and cute and... True to our current selves.

Oh how we would love to protect them from damage and twisted, winding paths we got as a result of the path that little image got us into... But we would have never seen the end of that particular hell if we didn't...

This is part of a large project about our art through the years. We'll post more about it later.

Personally, I think the #Nintendo 64 was a failure and most of its games aren’t worth revisiting because they were either vastly improved later on (e.g., the #3DS remakes of the #Zelda games) or just bad. But a few devs—Factor 5, Treasure, Quest, Rare, and Konami—really knew how to find its secret chord.

Holy crap fediiverse works (to some extent) with Sharkey thanks to its implementation of Mastodon api. Now I can even use fediverse on my 3DS, which is kinda crazy :blobfoxhyper:

📚️ Tanuki3DS (ex ctremu) is a libre, multi-platform emulator of the Nintendo 3DS focusing on simplicity, speed and compatibility. It features a HLE BIOS (does not require an external BIOS to run). Development began in August 2024 (no menus or sound yet, command-line startup). It supports gamepads and video upscaling. Many games work, but many suffer from a series of bugs ranging from graphical problems to crashes, and audio is not yet supported.
