Just found out that today is the birthday of an amazing lady who served as an inspiration (very loose, as usual) for one of the characters in the game we're working on (a sequel to this one entangledpear.itch.io/fairy-ta , play it for free 😇 ). Do you know who she was? (She totally looked like that 😉)

One of the party members in our first game (download at entangledpear.itch.io/fairy-ta for free!) is Barbara. She's loosely based on a literary figure, so no wonder she sometimes quotes Shakespeare. Like Hamlet, Act III, Scene III, Line 87:

An unintended hilarious consequence of the default system: In a confused state, a "normal" attack is used, unless otherwise specified. Marie has a special attack - shooting arrows (I know, the angle is weird), while others with the normal attack hack with their weapons. When confused, Marie switches to normal attack and hacks with the crossbow. We found it funny, and strangely appropriate, given she's confused, so we left it ☺️

Finished the implementation of chests and started to create a basic inventory system 💰

Right now, the whole map is not very structured - the next step is therefore to structure the code, make a template and a second map to try it out!

Not many people played our first game (like, five – be the sixth and download it here: entangledpear.itch.io/fairy-ta), so there are just a couple of reviews. They provide mostly fair criticisms (it is, after all, the first game we, complete amateurs, have ever made), but also a bit of marketing, which we’re grateful for 😉 More reviews welcome!
