Saint Privat was a French singer-songwriter born in 1957. He gained fame in the late 1980s with his hit song "Ice Ice Baby" featuring Vanilla Ice. The track became an international success, reaching number two on the UK Singles Chart and number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Saint Privat's music is characterized by its catchy hooks and electronic dance beats, which were popular in the techno music scene of the late 20th century. His stage name "Saint Privat" was a playful nod to his real name, Pierre Laurent-Prun. Throughout his career, Saint Privat released several albums and singles that showcased his unique style and talent for crafting infectious dance tracks. Unfortunately, he passed away in 1996 at the age of 39 due to complications from HIV/AIDS.

I grew up with only three TV channels. On Saturdays, BBC1 broadcast sport from lunchtime thro’ till teatime. On BBC2 there were Saturday matinées.
