When I started accessing the web many many years ago, I was using Fireball, lycos etc. as #searchengine
In secondary school I was asked by my sports teacher why I don’t use the thing called Google. So I used it for many years. I think till my days in the university ~ 2007.
When privacy topics came to my mind I switched over to DuckDuckGo.com, which I‘m still using all the time.

The only true alternative search which I could find is https://www.mojeek.com/
And using it will give you a real understanding of what we're missing out with the monopoly of a single search algorithm ruling over us
