I currently have #Shadowbox filtering out posts with images and videos into separate categories but I'm thinking it would be nice to further filter images based on whether they are screenshots/memes/AIslop vs original photographs but I think the Mastodon file uploading process normalizes a lot of the useful metadata that could help such classification.

Art can be a wonderful catalyst for emotions. I remember my little thriller box that I invented after I found the background image (more in the alt text). Given the current political situation, I immediately realise who my fictitious muffin-baking princess would fill into cans and send to Mars without return ticket. :blobcatknife: 😈

@starfire it displayed in my #Shadowbox (web on Ubuntu) but not in the Mastodon web client on Android.

I serendipitously chose Fosstodon 5 years ago when joining the Fediverse. Lucky for me, it's still going strong, becoming one of the more lively instances while others have since shut down (victim of success); #FOSS remains one of the few active Fediverse topics.

Mastodon has an onboarding problem similar to Linux. Say "join Mastodon!" but 1st you need to find an "instance" (choose a distro). And there are many bad choices and footguns when you want to switch later to another one.

An animal vertebra looks like a smiling face from above. For emphasis, it has red glass beads as eyes and a red Asian lucky charm bead with lettering as a tongue. The monster is surrounded at the top and bottom by forget-me-nots in perlage technique - all together in a rectangular box trimmed with beige-golden sequins. Everything beams in brightness and good vibes.

Yay! All the colouring is finished. This is going to be a #ShadowBox for my wife for Christmas. It's a scene from #StarTrek #LowerDecks. I've essentially just traced a screenshot in order to convert it to #VectorArt. I've still got to add shadows and highlights, then slice it up into different layers I can print out.

Currently tracing a scene from #StarTrek #LowerDecks. The aim will be to use the resulting vector image to cut out several layers and hopefully turn the scene into a #ShadowBox for Mrs. Leaf for Christmas. While a little tedious, I find the process of tracing relaxing, giving me some time to slow down and mellow out.

I started three days ago and I am trying to go as quickly as possible because I kinda realized I am running out of time!

It feels like I lose a bit of precision when fixing it all together - but I got there in the end.
