Die Rostgans kommt ursprünglich aus den Steppen und Halbwüsten Asiens und Nordafrikas. Inzwischen haben sie sich aber auch in Deutschland etabliert und es gibt hier ca. 160-200 Brutpaare. Die meisten sind dabei Nachkommen von ehemals in Gefangenschaft gehaltenen Tieren. Während der Brutzeit legen sie ein aggressives Verhalten an den Tag, was vermuten lässt, dass ihre Anwesenheit Auswirkungen auf heimische Brutvögel haben kann.

The theme for the night was Visions for Transition: Challenging existing paradigms and redefining values (for a more beautiful world). In response to protests from two materialists in the US, the talk was taken out of circulation by TED, relegated to a corner of their website and stamped with a warning label.
