#SolarCan

Pin hole camera image of Ardmore g'yard. Three day exposure this week using
@TheSolarCan
puck. Afternoon sunlight seems to have picked out the boundary wall too.

#secretour Old and new technology in use this week. #heritage #ireland #solarcan Sunline bottom right.

Greyey green roundel of an Irish round tower in the middle distance - a stone wall in the foreground - not fine detail as made with pinhole camera over three days this March
A short and unusual #solarcan #solargraph.
The sun is so low in the sky at this time of year it barely features, but the sky is brighter than any Solarcan I've done in the past. The bridge and foliage come through so well.
A single shot long exposure photo in blues and greys. A couple of bright arches of sun trails are barely visible. A terraced house skyline and bare trees stand out dark against the bright sky

I finally got round to updating my blog with my latest #SolarCan #solargraph

2 cans from the top of The Baltic Art Gallery in #gateshead #newcastle

Fullsize images on my blog.

2 pictures stacked vertcially. The top one is a greyscale image showing the broken tracks of the sun and the ghostly outline of The Sage. The bottom is the same view but different, and blue tinted.

Just processed my #SolarCan images showing the tracks of the #Sun across the sky between summer and winter solstice 2024.

One from the back garden, facing SW and the other from the front, facing NW.

I was late putting up my (in essence, it's a pinhole camera) in the Summer so I only got a 5 month exposure. However, it's still a cute experiment.
New Solarcan now fitted, this time tilted upward a few degrees - and installed in a timely fashion on the solstice 🙂

#solargraph #solargrafie #solarcan

Another one year long term pinhole camera exposure, taken between April 2023 and April 2024 in Switzerland. Hail to the #solarcan ! :)

After a couple months, I found a installation that fell down from the tree where it was installed. Fortunately, I found it, and still processed it anyway. The errant sun paths and some water damage make it all the more interesting.

Another #solarcan puck that missed the sun; or rather there wasn't enough sun to burn through the relentless grey of this week. I thikn it rotated at some point two because the outline of the houses is duplicated but at 90 degrees. It might be a rubbish #solargraph but it's a rather nice #pinholecamera photo I guess

Hazy outlines of houses, in blue and grey. A circular print.

Just before the solstice, I removed a @TheSolarCan that I had installed 6 months ago, right before the summer solstice. Looking east onto Reid Golf Course in Appleton, WI, you can see the ghosting around the trees from the leaves in the summer.

2023 in pinhole solargraphs. Twelve months, two angles of watching the sun cycle through a Puck. Each frame is ~10 days of exposure.

First view looking East-ish, second view to the south. The path of the sun was a bit too high in the summer and distorted by the double-glazing of the window it was stuck to. . Processed in Lightroom and LRTimelapse.

Six Months with a Puck
Just after winter solstice to today. At the top you can see the anemometer of my weather station. This is looking out over the roof of my house.

This has the most amazing colours of all the solargraphs I have ever taken.

A three month #solargraph at the Guilderton #lighthouse. The lighthouse is below the solar arcs, the other object is a power-pole.

Shot using a #solarcan #puck . Post processed in #snapseed .

#solargraphy

A round solargraph with the sun's arcs showing as white against a blue base. The horizon is just below the centre-line of the image, and the lighthouse is just left of centre. Much taller appearing is the nearby power pole, just to the right of centre.
The solar arc rise from the horizon in the centre, and arc to the left.
