I took these two indoor solarigraphy photos in my attic, using the windows through which a lot of light entered during sunset. I took the same shot with two cameras: a Braun Paxina IIb and a Polaroid EE33. I am very happy with the result of the first photo, but unfortunately the second one did not turn out well. The Polaroid is powered by two AA batteries, and the shutter can only stay open for just over a week (without mods), which is not enough for indoor solarigraphy. In addition, it does not have a tripod mount, so I could not set it up securely.

Despite that, I am very happy that I was able to bring back to life the Polaroid camera for which film cartridges have long been out of production. Now I have set up my Polaroid in a different location, secured it, ensured stability and plenty of light, and I am still testing it. The results will be available soon. 😊 Thank you all for your comments and reactions! 🙏

The exposure time was 31 days for the Paxina and was intended to be 32 days for the Polaroid, but it ended up being approximately 7 days.

Gear:
• Braun Paxina IIb (Germany, 1952) (1st shot)
• Polaroid EE33 (USA, ~1976) (2nd shot)
• FOMASPEED Variant 312 Black-And-White Photographic Paper

This is one of my first three solarigraphy shots. The exposure time was 34 days.
Unfortunately, I set the angle incorrectly, but you can partially see the paths of the setting sun in the sky. You can see when the sky was clear during sunset and when it was not. I set the same frame on two wider 6x9 cameras to capture as much of the sun as possible during the day, until sunset. The results will be available in the coming month or two! 😅

Pic of the day: pinhole camera made from a hollowed out book and expired photo paper. Exposure time was about a week.
#FilmPhotography #BelieveInFilm #PinholePhotography #solargraph

Fairly indistinct picture of a row of tall office buildings, with a fiery looking diagonal line in the sky above. The line is the path of the sun during about a week. A large part of the image is just gradients of yellow, and blue, because this was very old photo paper. There's also a ragged and slightly crooked black edge around, where the paper was stuck between the bales of the book and didn't get exposed.

Takže máme navíc i unikátní záznam o počasí letošního jara 🤯

Since October last year, I have had a set of solargraphy cameras set up at Rooftop Movies.

Their season, and mine, have now wrapped, so here's the writeup and the photos!

Don't know what solargraphy is? Or Rooftop Movies? Everything is explained!

A short and unusual #solarcan #solargraph.
The sun is so low in the sky at this time of year it barely features, but the sky is brighter than any Solarcan I've done in the past. The bridge and foliage come through so well.
A single shot long exposure photo in blues and greys. A couple of bright arches of sun trails are barely visible. A terraced house skyline and bare trees stand out dark against the bright sky

I finally got round to updating my blog with my latest #SolarCan #solargraph

Fullsize images on my blog.

2 pictures stacked vertcially. The top one is a greyscale image showing the broken tracks of the sun and the ghostly outline of The Sage. The bottom is the same view but different, and blue tinted.

A bit of an odd #Solargraph , in that this goes (more or less) from equinox to equinox, rather than Solstice to Solstice. Taken with a 3d printed camera, which, despite being up for the entirety of winter, was completely dry inside.

Post processing in #Snapseed .

Mostly monochrome, with hints of sepia. The foreground is a rooftop, with another house in the distance. Above the roofs are pale parabolic arcs, interrupted by darker segments.

Ran a couple tests of a soda can solargraph setup, and the results are encouraging. These were 2 day exposures on Illford multigrade paper.

I'm thinking I'll follow up with at least a week long exposure, and maybe take more care in positioning for a good frame.

Solargraph with a greenish tint. A Bright streak of the Sun's path is visible diagonally crossing the image. The silhouette of a staked plant is visible in the foreground..Greenish solargraph. A tree obscures much of the Sun's path. A white truck and telephone pole are visible in the foreground.

I've been published!

Well, sort of. At the start of this year I set up some of my #solargraph cameras at #RooftopMovies - and they have just published a writeup, complete with link back to my project page!

@georgetakei
They taste pretty good, and the cans make awesome #solargraph cameras once you are done!

One of the can camera solargraphs. Very heavily water and ant damaged, but startlingly beautiful nevertheless.

A giant tripod with a leaning tower behind it. Behind it all, the trails of the sun from the last six months form a series of arcs.

#solargraph #solargrafie #solarcan

A Winter Solstice solargraph combined with a white light image of the sun from the same day.

A sepia toned image showing silhouettes of trees and buildings, with the arc of the sun's passage shining behind them. Overlaid, sunspots and solar granulation.

@iangriffin
That is a stunning #solargraph !

I like the monochrome approach you've taken with it. I cannot work out, though, if you have inverted it or not. The foreground looks like a negative to me, but the sun trails are light! I'm confused!

Today was the Winter Solstice.

The original plan for this weekend was to recover our various #solargraph cameras from around Gingin.

Then we got Covid.

So, as we isolate and recover, I popped a #SolarcanPuck into the window above my sick bed, which conveniently points North.

So Happy Solstice, and Happy #SolarCanDay :)

1 day exposure. Scanned with Photoscan, and Postprocessed in #Snapseed.
