We're migrating Hackers' Pub to a pretty unconventional tech stack, and I'm honestly excited about it!

Thanks to my friend @xiniha, we're diving into #Solid, #SolidStart, #Pothos, #GraphQL, and #Relay. In a world dominated by Next.js and React, this feels refreshingly different. And yes, we're sticking with #Deno instead of Node.js too.

Some might call it contrarian, but I like to think of it as exploring what's possible beyond the mainstream. Sometimes the road less traveled leads to interesting places.

Ported the website of the famous internet radio station Dinxper FM to #solidjs + #solidstart . It features an audio player (duh!) w/ custom controls.

The custom constrols are reused on the listing page of past broadcasts. The broadcasts themselves are listed and streamed from an FTP server.

And now the next release of #SolidStart is out with the fix, so no more patching is required to make this work.

@jasonbyrne @nosherwan @humbird0 TypeScript is JS with added type annotations, so you're still developing in JS when you use TS. Otherwise, yes, especially the IDE integrations are absolutely great.

My day job is still writing react stuff, but in my free time, I use #SolidJS and #SolidStart.

Hi everyone I'm a frontend coder working mostly with #reactjs . I'm excited about #nextjs , #sveltekit , #SolidStart and #qwikCity . And I've been studying #rust #rustlang by having fun with #bevyengine and reading about #webassembly.
Besides programming I play a few instruments such as ukelele and guitar. I like watching some series and cartoons, like Steven Universe and rick and morty. I also read a few mangas in my daily basis 😁

@lexLohr #qwikCity is similar to #solidStart & nextjs for that matter 😊

@nosherwan #quik & #solidjs handle the front end, but #SolidStart extends the same simplicity to the server so that your isometric code may include the server model and the client bindings in fluent code.

I ❤️ that the current progress in the frontend world is achieved by evolution rather than revolution, even though the marketing claims might suggest otherwise.

Solutions like #Qwik, #SolidStart, #Fresh, #Marko6 are based on seemingly iterative small improvements of previous concepts – to great effect. Still, these established concepts served as a blueprint for immense improvements.

#SolidStart is in beta. But what it is? Basically what svelte-kit is for svelte, next and remix are for react, etc., but for #solid_js, with a few twists:

- recursive islands allow to reduce hydration to only those parts of your app that require it
- a hybrid router with a bit of extra logic allows SPA-like behavior and performance with only 5kb of JS
- server functions (the results reaches the client via RPC)

And like all the others, deployment adapters for most clouds.
