ADC 1700DD Turntable Restoration - The Speed Controls

It's all about the speed – Quartz Lock Button and Speed Adjustment

On the left side, we've got this cluster of controls and indicators.

So, you select the record speed when you power on the unit (previous post), but here we can lock it in or tweak it. Interesting feature, but not sure what need it’s fulfilling. Based on a quick test, it looks like you can tweak the speed +/- 10%.

This image shows a close-up of the control panel on the ADC turntable. The features visible include:

- A "PRESS" button with "LOCK IN" and "LOCK OUT" options
- A dial/knob with + and - indicators and an orange accent ring
- Speed selection indicators showing "33" and "45" (referring to RPM settings)
- A "QUARTZ LOCK" indicator lit in red
- The word "AUTOMATIC" on the right side
- Part of the vinyl record is visible at the top of the frame

The controls appear to be on a black plastic panel, and the text and indicators are illuminated in red LED lighting. This shows the detailed speed and quartz-lock controls typical of higher-end turntables from this era.

Designed a PWM fan controllers for noisy computers etc. Uses the excellent Microchip TC648 fan speed controller chip at its heart. Just select four resistors and you're good to go. PCB to come...
