The USS Enterprise from Strange New Worlds flies through space toward a massive cylindrical space station orbiting a planet. The Enterprise has its distinctive angular design with glowing blue engine exhausts and red accent lights along the hull. The enormous orbital structure features tall vertical spikes or towers extending from it, illuminated by blue lights. Below, a planet shows swirling blue and white atmospheric patterns. The scene is set against deep space filled with stars and colorful nebulae creating pink and blue cosmic clouds in the background.

Happy 1701 day

Reposting an older image for the occasion, 1701 by Marc Bell, D7 and K7 by David Metlesits, rendered in C4D/Redshift

Description by ChatGPT: The image is a 3D render inspired by Star Trek: TOS, specifically the episode "The Trouble with Tribbles." It showcases the starship USS Enterprise NCC-1701, rendered in stunning detail against the backdrop of deep space, speckled with stars.

The Enterprise dominates the scene, with its large, saucer-shaped primary hull prominently displayed at an angle. The hull is marked with the ship's registry number, "NCC-1701," and the name "U.S.S. Enterprise". Its smooth, metallic surface reflects faint ambient light, giving it a polished, futuristic appearance. The ship's two cylindrical warp nacelles extend below and to the sides, glowing red at their caps, connected to the main body by sleek pylons. A faint red glow lines certain panels and conduits, adding to its futuristic aesthetic.

In the background, a Klingon D7-class battle cruiser looms, its sleek, predatory shape distinct with its long, thin neck leading to a bulbous command module and broad, flat wings. The Klingon ship appears menacing but smaller in comparison to the Enterprise

To the side, a space station from the episode floats—likely the K-7 station. It features large, saucer-like modules connected by thin pylons and illuminated by small, dotted windows, giving the impression of a bustling outpost in the void.

The scene captures the tension and iconic elements of the Star Trek universe, paying homage to the famous episode involving Klingons, the Federation, and the ever-multiplying Tribbles.

I drew a Jem’Hadar in a comfy shirt. He’s not sure about it. This is just a random oc, Third Tamet’agan. He’s three and a half years old. This is post-Dominion war, in my headcanon world where the Jem’Hadar are allowed freedom. He’s still dependent on White, though not by choice. Many Jem’Hadar learned after the war that they, much like First Goran’agar (“Hippocratic Oath”) were not actually dependent on White, and many others were only partially dependent. Tamet’agan falls into the latter group. Although he won’t die without White, he finds the anxiety too much and prefers to remain on the drug. Yes, this is a mental health/anxiety metaphor. Yes, I am projecting.

I converted Chris Kuhns new blueprint-correct U.S.S. Defiant to C4D/Redshift. Since the texture emissions did not work well in Redshift I added some mesh-based area lights, that used the texture emission submeshes as emitting objects, that works far better and also is far more controllable through area light settings.

This is a first quick test render.

A jolly tardigrade camping on the hull of a federation starship. Has a small tent, marshmallow skewer, and a good attempt at building a camp fire in space.
