Looking for an inexpensive #stereoscope to view #3D content on your phone? I think your best cheapskate bet is to search for a used copy of the book "California in Depth" by Jim Crane (ISBN-13: 9780811804233) You can usually pick one up for $5 to $8. You'll want to check the listing to make sure the folding stereoscope (Stereopticon 707) included. The stereoscope folds flat, and is a little flimsy, but it's about the best price I've found to get something serviceable, and as a bonus, you'll get a pretty good book.

Don't buy from Amazon! Find it on Alibris or another bookstore-friendly site:
https://www.alibris.com/California-in-Depth-Jim-Crain/book/50032877?matches=23

The viewer alone is available here for about $9:

Looking at photo that she can put in her stereoscope. Thinking about photos she can take with her Kodak camera

Apple’s Vision Pro reminds me of the View-Master stereoscope my uncle brought me from the US in the 1960s, with added straps. Oh, and tech… Yours for the princely sum of £24.95 from eBay

What a treasure! I've been a fan of #stereoscopy since I got my first #ViewMaster in the late 1960s. I later bought a FujiFilm Finepix #3D #camera and have been having fun with it ever since. I think the #HolmesStereoscope like the one you've shown is still the best way to view 3D pictures. I made an #OpenSource #Windows app for manipulating digital stereo images and a paint.net template to make #stereograms.

Visiting family and discovered they have a stereoscope and a batch of stereoscopic images from the late 1800s.

Thoroughly enchanted by it and them.

Going to get the scanner out to digitise the images properly (not just a snapshot on my phone as this one is).

Excellent wee project for the autumn.

A photo of an old wooden stereoscope, with a stereoscopic image in the holder. The stereoscope has a lens for each eye with a wooden surround to stop peripheral view / light and a barrier to separate the view for each eye. Beyond the headset is a holder for stereoscopic images (two images depicting left-eye and right-eye views of the same scene). Viewing through the device means that for most people they are shown as a single three-dimensional image. The image in this photo is a group of people on a boat. It is a thing of beauty and charm. An example of a stereoscopic image from 1890, published by Strohmeyer & Wyman.

It depicts a bedroom scene, with a man lying down staring to the right, looking dismayed. On the left is a stern looking woman wagging her finger at him. The text along the bottom reads

"For heaven's sake, Maria, give us a rest!"
Die gardinen-predigt

(Nice bit of 130 year old casual sexism there.)

The two images look almost identical when viewed side-by-side without the stereoscope.

The are just wild. This camera is almost 10 years old and it's a great setup. I bet you can make a stereoscope out of cardboard got glued together. Just steer the mirrors using some tape and you're on your way. The biggest problem today was shooting against the sunlight.

A new addition to my stereoscope card collection. This is why it's important to tell everyone's history.

Stereoscopic Pics from 2008
Digging through a bunch of old negs I ran across some photos I took several years ago with a film-based Stereoscopic Camera. Front of Otter Rafting building, inside on the sales counter with Winston, and out back with Dave on the wheel.
