#StormElin and #StormFergus were named by @MetEireann over the weekend, but have now moved away leaving plenty of sunny spells and lighter winds than recent days.

Aw man, one of my favourite trees was a casualty of #StormElin. Graves Park cricket pavilion sycamore, #Sheffield

The tree in happier times (well, lockdown). A mature sycamore tree stands in glorious isolation in parkland. The 'golden hour' light picks out ridge and furrow earthworks in the park. A fortuitous cyclist soaking in the view next to the tree adds a sense of scale.

#A5151 #Rhuddlan closed between Cwm Road and Waterfall Road due to fallen tree.

#A5 partially blocked between #BetwsYCoed and #Pentrefoelas (near Padog Bends) due to fallen tree. (8pm: Road has since reopened)

#A470 partially blocked between Betws-Y-Coed and #BlaenauFfestiniog (near Fairy Glen) due to fallen tree.

Was #running in the Liverpool & District cross country league at Beacon Park, near #Skelmersdale this afternoon. #StormElin was in full swing so runners, me included, were sheltering under trees until the start. Two laps of an extremely muddy, hilly course in driving rain 🌬️🌧️ Never been so happy to see the finish line 😁

The doors inside my house are rattling due to the wind outside.

It’s sounds nasty out there. Windiest sounding it’s been for a few years.

As the sun sets on a stormy day, dark and vivid clouds of deep orange and red, shading into oxblood, dominate a sky brushed with pastel shades of yellow and peach on the horizon.

#StormElin - Bridge updates:

#FlintshireBridge to close at 5pm due to strong winds. The road is expected to reopen at midnight. Vehicles will be diverted via the A494(t), A55(t), and A5119 (#Flint).

#BritanniaBridge is currently open but with a 30mph advisory limit in place and restrictions for caravans and motorbikes.
