While #SadiqKhan won the #election for #LondonMayor, beating #Tory candidate #SusanHall, after a very fractious campaign, the quote of the day belongs to one of the minor candidates standing, #CountBinface (no relation to #LordBuckethead), who still beat the #BritainFirst's #NickScanlon and said,
"It looks like I have defeated Britain First in an election.
“Come on, you have to cheer about that…down with fascism, up with Ceefax, what can I say?”

Susan Hall, fists raised and looking maniacal, on the front cover of an old Evening Standard, bearing the headline: "And the winner is?" Beneath this, "Tories unveil Susan Hall as their candidate for City Hall but Khan's odds-on to seal third victory. Full story page 2."

However, Ms Hall's head has a meme pasted over it. It’s a rectangular sticker, at an angle to match the original image of Fashy Sue, bearing an image of someone much more likeable: Captain James T. Kirk, portrayed by William Shatner. He is screaming, driven half-mad with anger. The word he exclaims is captioned at the bottom of the meme: "KHAAAAAAAAAAN!"

It's a familiar scene from 'Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan’. Let's hope Enoch Powell fan-girl Suzy takes the news of her defeat better than this, after Sadiq Khan's historic third-term win has well and truly Shatner.

The Mirror's deputy political editor, Mikey Smith, has said No 10 and the
Conservative party are refusing to say when, where or how Rishi Sunak, the
UK's prime minister, has voted. They were asked whether Sunak had voted
for Susan Hall, the Conservative candidate for London mayor, but this
reportedly was not confirmed.
The latest YouGov poll puts Sadiq Khan, the London mayor, 22 points ahead
of Hall, with Khan, who is seeking a third term, on 47% to Hall's 25%.
The Green candidate, Zoe Garbett, is on 70/0 while Liberal Democrat Rob
Blackie is tied on 6% with Reform UK's Howard Cox.

I'm a #GreenParty member so I will be voting Green for the Assembly members. However, I'll also be voting for #SadiqKhan to remain as Mayor. The Green Party candidate #ZoeGarbett is great but under the new voting system, changed by Tories with little resistance from #UKLabour she won't win. I'm pretty happy with #MayorKhan, except for #SilvertownTunnel So to avoid any chance of the horrendous #Tory #SusanHall stealing it he gets my vote

I lived in London when I left university. My sons live there. I go regularly to see friends, go to the theatre and galleries, and I love its multicultural richness.
