What's up with #TheGuardian's #racistFarage revelations? Now in week 3, since 18 Nov. Several articles per day.

#Farage's systematic racism was wicked. His 2025 evasions are despicable. #DulwichCollege's inaction was criminal.

Guardian readers have seen Farage's racism for decades. But Farage's supporters were also well aware, and see it as a virtue.

The racism appals lefties & liberals, but won't upset #ReformUK supporters. Some Faragistas love it. So why make such a huge thing of it?

He is 'Britain Trump' and we don't want that because we can see what that looks like in America and that looks very bad.
Very bad.

Child poverty strategy?
Not one of these addresses the fundamental issue that the country is drastically top heavy. Too many decades of disproportionate pay awards and imbalanced taxation have conspired to ensure the rich are exceedingly over-rich and the lowest paid are desperate.

Even the breadline is above their heads.

Just a thought about #YourParty and people's lack of enthusiasm.

I know they fucked up the whole setting up of the party, and they took ages to get this far ...

But I do think some folk dismiss the party because they fear being on the losing team. That is, they don't want to support a party that turns out to be a laughing stock.

The thing is, if not enough people support it, it will never get off the ground. So it gets all a bit catch 22. But I do think people need to feel confident in whatever they are supporting. It's not just a case of agreeing with policies, it's a case of feeling proud of the party they support. Faith they will win.

It's a bit like liking a band. Sometimes people need the endorsement from a music critic before they will feel confident to passionately like a band. I think it works that way sometimes.

There might be music you love, and music you like, but a current scene and endorsement from journalists can turn a likeable band into a band you feel passionate about. The passion comes from social kudos from being a fan of a cool band, and confidence that you won't look like a nob from admitting you like them.

I kinda think the lack of enthusiasm for Your Party is a similar thing.

The health secretary's announcement of a review into ADHD and autism assessments is another example of his missing the point, writes Kat Brown. Post-Covid Britain is on its knees, and its young people need hope and promise of a brighter future - not being told, wrongly, that they are 'pathologising feelings"

"In a June 2025 poll by the campaign group Care Not Killing, 65% agreed that the government should prioritise sorting out palliative, social and end-of-life care before considering whether to introduce assisted dying. Given the damning evidence of underfunding in end-of-life care, the message that the members of both parliaments should now take on board is that assisted living matters too."

The Palestine Action hunger strike is not being televised

"Six political prisoners – held unlawfully for a year or more on remand, & retroactively deemed to be 'terrorists' for trying to stop the Gaza genocide – have been on hunger strike for many weeks in prison. At least one is already seriously ill."

"There has been blanket silence from the media... & barely any coverage of the appalling conditions".

Ireland calling the UK out for being stupid enough to fall for this 'gender critical' bollocks. The Minister of Health -

(fwiw the acceptance of trans people in Ireland feels great vs TERF Island, but I'm dubious the 'in power' FF/FG parties will do much on the absolutely appalling Irish public trans healthcare, and Sinn Fein appear very untrustworthy. But we can at least hope ...)

Ms Carroll-MacNeill told TDs that she has previously raised her concerns about the "divisive debate that seemed to be seeping over from the United Kingdom".

"We could see it coming, and I recall speaking with trans people prior to that, who had said to me the sort of fearful things that were being touted at that time, that people were going to come into changing rooms, for example, dressed up as men.

"I mean, the nonsense of it. The sheer nonsense of it, we all know that. That a man was going to dress up as a woman come into a changing room for the purposes of attacking me, as though, with all of the conversations we've had about femicide in this room, we ever needed a man to dress up to attack a woman? Did you ever hear such nonsense ever?

"And did you ever have examples of it from any of the time since the Gender Recognition Act was passed, until this different movement seeped in - somehow - in 2021, 2022 and changed the narrative and made it cruel, and made it cruel for trans people, and I never understood why."

She said she "always regretted that it seeped over here", adding that she recognised there was work to be done in healthcare provision for "gender-diverse people", adding that the Government ws committed to appropriate pathways for gender healthcare.

@ohmrun

Nothing ever does stack up with our , they address symptoms instead of causes.

Same with NHS waiting times, they increase pressure, to unbearable levels, but the root cause is where there is a bottle-neck. Probably something like the lack of care homes….right at the end of the chain.

are stupid
