Quiet Moment the the Day:
These lanterns in Suwon are based on a Joseon era record showing a parade of soldiers. In this modern era the were lit up and hung over a canal.
To us, they seemed more like something for mourning or a funeral…
But apparently, they're gifts to wish success for a business or similar occasions
(anyone reading this who knows more about it?).
Striking floral arrangements, and we saw them in every Korean city.
maybe the biggest visual difference between our Northern European cities and Korea is the use of color…

We visited the Suwon Starfield Library in January 2024. This is a beautiful space in the middle of the Starfield Suwon shopping centre. It isn't worth a trip to Suwon to visit by itself, but if you are in Suwon and have the time, it's worth dropping in (and Suwon is worth visiting).
