I recently watched the attached video. Professor #Tanenbaum is undoubtedly a man of great expertise. In the reimplementation of #Minix 3, he says he chose code based on #BSD (not #Linux) because the code is of superior quality. If Professor Tanenbaum says so...

In the Android section, there are two major additions of material, on privacy and background execution. (At least there should be, I haven't actually seen the final book!)

It was interesting looking back at the 4th edition material (from 2013-2014) and realizing though it had a lot on security, there was basically nothing on privacy!

Absolutely amazing story (in a bad way). They took your code without even telling you about it, they use it to build a malicious system, and all you care about is a FAME. Permissive licenses are irresponsible and childish.
