A Night in the Glittering Caves, from Happy Tea Turtle: https://happyturtletea.com/shop/loose-leaf-tea/black-tea/night-in-the-glittering-caves/
Had the bright idea to take a picture of this tea BEFORE putting it in my teapot. What a concept.
This occurred to me because even before taking a sip, this tea is already notable for two reasons.
1. It has edible glitter and it sparkled as it brewed. Unfortunately, all the glitter ended up caught in the leaves and mesh of the strainer, so there's none in my teapot.
2. It smells like playdough.
This tea is meant to be inspired by Lord of the Rings, a series I have never been interested in. It's a sweet bourbon and pecan flavored tea. The smell as it was brewing is unfortunate.
I'd hoped it wouldn't translate to the flavor, but the primary taste of it is still playdough-y. That said, it actually mellows out into something very pleasant.
But maybe I just didn't rinse my supplies well enough after my last pot of tea.
It's not so bad that I won't finish the pot, but I am wondering what I'll do with the remaining two or so servings of leaves I still have...
