Estoy oyendo el episodio que habla sobre el “toxic tour” por los pozos y el Lago donde abrieron los huecos para extraer petróleo en medio del Amazonas ecuatoriano; es una desgracia ambiental y humana. Hace años ganaron la demanda y Chevron/Texaco no ha pagado lo que debe.

No ha pagado lo que debe porque el que tiene plata marranea en sitios donde el dinero compra voluntades, pero oír la cantidad de mujeres con cáncer, niños con deformaciones y hombres enfermos es un golpe en el ánimo. La industria del combustible fusil es una industria criminal.

Me impresiona que las demandantes en busca de justicia en muchos casos son niñas, jóvenes que están tratando de cambiar su futuro. 🥲

@alda OFC Franchise models and their subsequent infrastructure are as complex as brands in general.

• I.e. a lot of brands are only used in the #USA (or #Europe) due to "#brand value" (i.e. noone here knows #Texaco / #Chevron unless they saw it in #US media or in person elsewhere!)

For example, #bp canceled their own brand in favour of using #ARAL for gas stations in #Germany, and #ORLEN also operates a 2nd brand, #star.

• To add more confusion, both ARAL/bp and Shell in Germany get their gasoline and Diesel from the exact same refinery, and merely have minor changes in mixture done for them.
