This image features a vibrant poster with an illustration of a clown balancing on a tightrope while playing the tuba and juggling books. The background is a soft yellow, which provides contrast for the colorful figures depicted.

The clown has red curly hair peeking out from under his red hat adorned with two orange pompoms. He's wearing a checkered blue and green jacket over a white shirt decorated with various geometric shapes in multiple colors like pink, purple, and teal. His trousers are brown with a pattern of darker brown circles. The clown also sports dark sunglasses.

The tuba is prominently displayed in the center-right part of the poster; it has a bright yellow hue with gold accents along its sides that give it a shiny appearance. It's connected to the tightrope, suggesting movement and music as key themes.

Surrounding the clown are six books thrown into the air above him on ropes, each book having a different design or color pattern—blue-green circles, orange stars, red spirals with yellow centers—and some displaying visible titles such as "The Red Balloon" (in blue text), another in green, and others not entirely legible. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a #Chinese #spy device?

Don't shoot it down!

It's #TheRedBalloon, the silent, sentient title character in Albert Lamorisse's 1956 fantasy dramedy that became a global cinematic sensation.

The 34-minute classic about a #Parisian boy's interactions with said #balloon is the only short #film to have won an #Oscar in a writing category (#BestOriginalScreenplay).

Additionally, it won the #PalmedOr for short #films at the #CannesFilmFestival.

They used to show us this movie in elementary school every time it rained. The library had a copy of it on a reel when they busted out the projector.
Who knew it would prove to be so prescient?
