It's #TheRedBalloon, the silent, sentient title character in Albert Lamorisse's 1956 fantasy dramedy that became a global cinematic sensation.
The 34-minute classic about a #Parisian boy's interactions with said #balloon is the only short #film to have won an #Oscar in a writing category (#BestOriginalScreenplay).
Additionally, it won the #PalmedOr for short #films at the #CannesFilmFestival.
They used to show us this movie in elementary school every time it rained. The library had a copy of it on a reel when they busted out the projector.
Who knew it would prove to be so prescient?
