📚️ YouTD 2 is a libre, multi-platform single player/multiplayer (coming soon) tower defense game inspired by an eponymous WarCraft 3 map. The aim of the project is to retain the parameters and functionalities of the original in a stand-alone game, and to implement its 227 towers (676 per upgrade) of different rarity (common, uncommon, rare, unique), based on 7 elements (Ice, Nature, Fire, Astral, Darkness, Iron, Storm) with unique characteristics and weaknesses. Players start by setting their objective (80 to 240 waves to overcome), difficulty (5 levels), and game mode (3 modes), and at the end of each wave perceive and improve their towers (via potions and items) in a wise manner to build their defense against waves of creatures testing their weak points. These waves are defined by 0 to 2 modifiers (from a total of 40) and the type of creatures that make them up (normal, champion, flying, mass, boss, each equipped with 5 types of armor). A game of the highest quality!

88 waves cleared, 130,351 points, 13 minutes and 36 seconds duration, and 3 stars.

Out of the loot collected, of note is 7,000 tensors (the orange spherical items).

Spent the day playing through the release candidate for #PortalFoxesTD from start to finish, and it's good to go. So good. I can't wait for people to get their hands on the full version. 4 days.

Tonight's game reco:
Infinitode 2, a tower defense game.

We played Defense Grid for a time and loved it, this one scratches that itch, although it uses a noticably different structure, notably a massive metaprogression tech tree.

It does have some metaprogression-boosting mtx, but the game is entirely enjoyable without them and is free to start.

Also, if you are willing to put in the small effort to make an account, you can sync your progress between the 3 versions (but not mid-session savestates).

Besser spät als nie: Konnte heute in WDR3 endlich "Thronefall" vorstellen, das ja bereits vor einem Monat mit einem DCP für "Bestes Gamedesign" ausgezeichnet wurde. Und der Moderator fragte mich in diesem Zusammenhang, warum Games so oft kriegerisch wirken. Darauf habe ich natürlich eine tolle Antwort... ;)
