#UNITRACK

Since the weather's bad today and I wanted to do something, I decided to re-work my model railroad layout (N-scale). I didn't like my first design, so here is another one. It's 110cm x 75cm in dimension.

EDIT: I also actually built most of the layout (except for two turnouts) to get a proper impression how it would look like in the real world. This is more what I had in mind and it seems to fit with my "couch table model railroad" idea.

Erster Aufbau, die fehlenden Gleisstücke für den Innenkreis sind geordert 🤗
Habe bisher nur große Radien vom Teppichbahning....

@ronaldb66 well, it's a small N-gauge setup, based on #Kato #Unitrack using a #Fleischmann #Z21 and a Kuehn #WD10 switch decoder. Software is that Fleischmann Z21 App on my mobile. Setting up #RocRail is next on the list.

Since my model railroad project is going to be a long-term thing, I'm taking my time getting used to basic stuff like building cardboard ramps to play with steepness levels. Old packaging is very useful for that.

I'm only experimenting right now, not even prototyping anything. But the eventual track layout slowly comes together in my head.

I'm still not sure wether or not to use those #Minitrix tracks. I really fancy that #Kato #UniTrack with the grey roadbed. But it's quite costy and I already have those Minitrix tracks from ages ago.

Photo shows the following:

top-view of my workbench, a compact, black pc keyboard without numpad on the top border of the frame, below it there are cardbord squares of various sizes glued together utilizing a small piece of styrofoam inbetween. These are going to be the pillars of an improvised model railroad ramp.Photo shows the following:

In this view, the cardbord squares are aligned and ordered by size, arranged in a in a slight arc. A piece of cardborard ramp with an N-Gauge track on can be seen, lying in the middle of the workbench.Photo shows the following:
