@malwaretech @vmstan I think #wapost is dead
I do so love this both-sides-ing that tries to find moral footing: one candidate wants total power and does not understand or respect the Constitution or the principles upon which this country was founded; but the other one doesn’t have a plan to immediately solve a decades-old foreign conflict that has confounded the world, so it’s clearly a toss up. We shouldn’t endorse either candidate because both are valid.
COME ON. #wapost
I'm interested in this article on the #wapost
but it's paywalled
can anyone provide me with a link to a free version, please ?
Thanks
“I talked to a person close to #Trump during the commercial break there. They are livid about ABC #factchecking him and disappointed that so many of the questions have focused on topics that aren’t good for him in the #polls — #abortion, the riot on #Jan6, the false #stolenelection claims, what he said about the #whitesupremacists in #Charlottesville, among others. But the person also conceded it wasn’t going so great tonight thus far.”

They hired a News Corp stooge to run the Washington Post and, predictably, he acts like a Murdoch stooge.

First, here's an archive link to that WA Post story.
And here is a set of snapshots from the article, most of which I've selected based on what Roberts had to say in his thread. Basically, I want to substantiate Roberts' depiction of the article, because he linked to the original with a paywall.

It took me too long to figure out this #WaPost DC rainfall chart with the coinciding bars and 3 labels per month. I don't think I need *any* labels to get the idea that October was dry. I made a simpler version with overlaid bars and area. #LessIsMore
Also, I couldn't help but to normalize by days-in-month. Small pet peeve is comparing monthly sums and not accounting for number of days in month.
Miss Manners disguised as Washington Post. Not sure how useful this is, but looks like #OS17 for phones has an "answering machine call screening" feature. My initial thought about no voice mail is wondering about privacy concerns.
Looks like #WAPost wants wide distribution. Check out this article:
The rules for phone calls have changed. Here are the basics on when and how to make a phone call, and why you should think twice before leaving that voice mail.
@davidzipper Along the lines of #WaPost, which is running a whole series on the environmental downside of electric cars, i.e. the rapacious mining of rare metals, as if this means we should just keep on burning petroleum?
Oh great. Mr Musk is paying his Neonazi pals to post on Twitter...
lovely.

Since today's #30DayChartChallenge theme is part-to-whole, I'll admit to pondering a rare question for me: would this #WaPost bar chart be better as a pie chart? Or at least as a stacked bar? That is, it seems cumulative %s are more relevant that individual categories, especially such fuzzy ones.
Seeing this #wapost chart of DC cherry blossom bloom dates and a line fit, I had to try a smoother #datviz. Slightly different story. With no shift in first 50 years, it's more like a week lost in 50 years instead of in 100 years as they reported.
I was also going to try adjusting the dates for leap years, but they had already done that and just not labeled it. I "fixed" that by adding a true date of year gridline.
