Lifting this morning. Kettlebells, chains, sandbag, resistance bands, my bodyweight and a rock were used. A basic full body workout. Worked up a good sweat and feeling good about it.

I’m convinced: consistent wake-up times are more necessary than the amount of hours slept for my best health (so far)…

It’s a tricky line, because we DO need good sleep and plenty of it to do our best the next day, but a wishy-washy wake up can throw off a schedule just as badly.

Does anyone have a guide or advice on starting to workout at home? I need to start treating my body better and starting at home by myself would be great for me, so I can get used to it and at some point go to a gym.

I ran out of coffee beans so, I did a little experiment.

Deliveroo would have taken 25-40 mins to deliver my bags of beans, and would have added delivery fees.

So, I cycled to the same coffee shop, bought the beans, a raspberry croissant, and used my reward points for a free coffee...

...and that took me an hour.

The way I see it, I got breakfast, free exercise, a free cup of coffee, and the coffee beans, and some bonus wellbeing away from my office 😄 ☕ 🥐

Rowing again this morning. 5 x 800m intervals with 2 minutes rest. All at greater than ~120W with the last one at ~133W output. I think I could have done them all at over 130W. Still good though

Oh, hey. I’ve hit 2,750 rings closed on my Apple Watch. Some days were *definitely* more active than others, but I work a desk job so making sure I move every day is important to me.

I also miss running, just a little bit. Maybe my next home will be more running friendly.

I’ve not long arrived home from my walk which was a perfect 6km. In one spot I went down the bank & onto the sand that is usually well covered in water. There was a fish splashing around, but I never actually saw it, I kept missing it, but I did hear it twice & saw the ripples. Once home I got out of the car to open the garage & saw my pelargonium had quite a few downy feathers on it. I was looking at them & on the ground were three little feathers joined together, moving together, like they were alive 😳. Weirded me out a little bit so I picked them up and there was a sugar ant underneath 🤣😂😂.

My car dinging 4C at me both on the way and on the way back from the pool this morning. Another brisk yet sunny morning in Melbourne. Did my swimming, watched the sun come up as I lapped, heard some black cockatoos screeching as I drove home. Excellent start to the day. The mist was so thick above the water you could barely see more than a metre ahead unless you duck your head under the water to check for legs.

Good morning tooters. It was apparently -2c this morning, but I don’t think it felt like it. At the moment it’s about 6c & heading up to 21, with rain forecast later today & the sky does look quite moody.
I would quite like to go for a walk this morning & I think the rain will hold off, I can’t see anything on the radar anyway. Not that that’s always accurate.
I am slowly going through different cupboards, moving things, getting rid of the unused. The old bread maker has been pulled out & put in the garage for delivery to an op shop or the recycle shop. I’ll ring them later today to see what they take. I moved a small, very narrow bookcase into the laundry for use in there. It’s all quite satisfying changing things & decluttering.

I’ve always called this “my tree”. It’s been on my horizon from little garden where I’ve lived for 14yrs. I love how it looks in different lights & against different skies. Today it’s a lovely dark green with white branches visible against a very moody blue/grey sky. A neighbours dun coloured roof is at the bottom of the picture.

Had a good workout today. Kettlebells, chains, resistance bands and a sandbag. All outdoors. Worked up a good sweat. Enjoyed it.
