#FACT: It's not real #E2EE unless you have100% #SelfCustody of all the keys!

By contrast, @monocles are upfront and honest that if you use their #WebMailer's built-in Encryption / Decryption, your Keys *will be stored on the Servers [Something that @protonprivacy / #ProtonMail does too but tries to leave out as a little detail]...

Thus the correct way as #monoclesMail says is to use your own client and keep your keys to yourself.

Cuz unlike #Proton, #monocles actually offer standard protocols to use with regular eMail clients

Now OFC, monocles charge €2 p.m. for their starter account but they also accept #SEPA #WireTransfer, #Monero, #CashByMail, #Stripe and #PayPal for #payments, so it's pretty flexible and affordable given they don't put #ads in your #inbox or invade user privacy!

#Netbooks introduced people to the concept of #WebApps and accepting lower performance for lower price and more battery runtime.

#Smartphones became cheaper to the point one can get a < €100 one shipped next day via Aperzon and likely even a < € 50 one (+shipping) from eNay or ShitExpress without even negotiating at all.

#Chromebooks then extended #Android to something more "productive" and #Apple's #iPad followed suit - don't get me started on #Microsoft's failed and overpriced #Surface crap tho!

#FirefoxOS tried to go full in on the concept of "All you need is a Browser really" but as we all know they hamfisted themselves by not actually selling devices to people that want them - I know @fuchsiii and I wanted one but the only way to get one was to get some obscure Spanish Prepaid Bundle (which noone would proxy-buy because ID registration bs), get the #Netlock / #SimLock removed and then shipped to Germany...

And for most "#Users", which lets be honest are the "#TechIlliterate #Normies", all they need is something that can open up NSAbook, Aperzon, YouNuke and allow them to access the #WebMailer of their provider...

The only reasons I still deploy #UbuntuLTS for these is because they tend to randomly want to print stuff, copy files, edit an eMail and put some fancy fonted text into a PDF.

And because #GDPR & #BDSG are inherently incompatible with #CloudAct but I still have to maintain stuff...

@birgitlachner @PL_RLP Hallo Birgit, #IServ ist kein LMS und bietet explizit auch keine Moodle-Instanz an. Die große Stärke ist die Kombi aus HW-Verwaltung, einfaches #BYOD und einem #Webmailer für SuS (auch KuK, sofern gewünscht) + andere Features.

Wir haben einen Kunden, der verschickt alle Mails signiert per #SMIME. Nur ein Bruchteil seiner Kunden kann die Mails lesen, da alle gängigen #Webmailer einfach NICHTS anzeigen und selbst Outlook für iOS zeigt nichts an. Nur OWA/Exchange und die Desktopanwendungen funktionieren.

Then, of course, there's #Roundcube . Is there any other reasonable #webmailer left, on #enterprise level? I'm loving it.

@EeveeEuphoria #Gmail is utter garbage and the fact that it can't even sort emails "unread first" in 2023 makes it a useless #Webmailer...

According to my recent research, it would make sense if the location of log files and attachments is not in the documentRoot. There are just too many cases where operators do not properly secure sensitive directories of their instances.
