Struggling to understand #HDR and how this is supposed to look without having references is really hard. Especially on Linux PC where support for anything HDR is rather new.

This is e.g. screenshots from #Metro Exodus played via #Proton Experimental on #Wayland and #GNOME 49 (all on lowest(!) gamma).

HDR OFF is okayish but looses a lot of details in the dark
HDR ON is washed out (known bug for game?)
HDR ON + ReShade with LevelsPlus. Looses some highlights but is IMHO best "readable"

Over the past few days and weeks, I’ve decided to downsize my digital and tech collection. I own so many computers, laptops, smartphones, smartwatches, accessories, and so on—I can never really use it all. I bought a lot of it just to own the latest “hot stuff.”

That’s why I’ve gotten rid of most of it—either giving it away or selling it for very little. And I’ve kept only the bare essentials. Often not even the newest or best.

For example: I now only use my Peladn Mini-PC with an old Ryzen 5 5500U as my computer; I don’t even use the newer, faster ones to their full potential, so I gave them away. I’ve now reinstalled Debian Stable on it, with an absolute minimum of programs—just the bare essentials: browser, LibreOffice, Tuta, Signal, VLC, Nextcloud, Localsend, Rustdesk.

I’ve moved away from Fedora because: Fedora = Red Hat = IBM = US Big Tech = US MAGA fascists.

I’m also saying goodbye to Proton and will only use Tuta and Posteo from now on.

All my new smartphones like the S25 Ultra, Pixel 10 Pro XL, etc., are gone; I’ve kept the cute Pixel 8a in beautiful blue, very compact, running GrapheneOS. That’s more than enough—it lasts almost 3 days, and here too, I’ve installed only the absolute essentials.

Cuando vi el tráiler de Crisol ya prometía mucho, pero aun así me ha sorprendido muchísimo.

Por 17€ me he encontrado con un juego con un apartado artístico espectacular y una ambientación oscura y opresiva, con un fuerte aire de oscurantismo religioso.

Además, recargar las armas con tu propia sangre hace que te pienses mucho cada combate.

Y todo ello integrando la cultura española de una forma muy auténtica. Una sorpresa enorme.

Q. about #Proton Docs,

Has it been buggy for you? I wanted to add a table to one of my docs for the sake of formatting info. 3 columns is the default, great. I had the cursor in what is essentially A2...? and was curious to know if we can put tables within tables. (Because I want to have little verb conjugation charts in this.)
Proton apparently added a table below the first TWO columns.
Then, I clicked on a six-dot button over A3, changed the color, and the two cells below this were changed.

🧵 4/n turns out, using #Steam (native, no Flatpack/Snap) and #Proton, i'm enabled to install #3Dmark on my #Manjaro #Linux box.

3D Mark actually starts, BUT it fails to run any #Benchmark. Also, it seems to leave my box in a "weird state" - reboot fixed it.

So NO, you cannot run 3D Mark on Linux, conveniently via Steam+Proton, afaik.

If you want to benchmark different Proton variants, like the v4 from #CachyOS, you SHOULD use in-game benchmark facilities.

@polkadots #proton kann ich seit kurzem leider nicht mehr uneingeschränkt empfehlen. :(

@boilingsteam #linuxmint but honestly, since I only game on steam and #proton is a gabensend, the Distro probably won't matter.
