I have been up on Buck Hill a lot during the past two years, and yet yesterday was the first time that I have seen the Fore River Bridge in the raised position. I am sure those stuck in traffic did not enjoy this, but for me it was a rare treat.

The trail up was frozen over hard, very uneven terrain from the previous footsteps through the snow. It wasn't too cold, but wind gusts of 40mph and very turbulent air made for poor photography conditions. After photographing a couple of targets, I decided to pack things up. I brought along my camcorder to get some shots for a short film I am working on. That's when I noticed the bridge. I quickly ran back to get all the gear, setup as quick as I could, without extending the tripod, and got down on my knees in the ice and snow and managed to capture some images. Shortly after I started shooting, the bridge began to be lowered, so I just made it! The air turbulence is quite noticeable, but at least I got the shot!

Doppler Radar Tower, Naval Air Station South Weymouth, South Weymouth MA photographed from Buck Hill. This is on the grounds of a large abandoned Navel Air Station. Seems like a cool place to check out. There is an old airport control tower still standing on the site, but unfortunately it is not visible from Buck Hill.

To the right is the large white roof of The Hangout at Union Point, 26 Memorial Grove Ave, Weymouth MA

The lower splash of school and houses near the bottom of the frame is all in Braintree MA. South Middle School, 232 Peach St, Braintree MA.

Directly below the towers are two houses, 180 and 187 Westminster St, Weymouth MA. To the right of the houses is Weymouth Place Apartments, 580 Middle St, Weymouth MA.

At the middle right of the frame is what looks like it might be an antenna. It is located at the Hingham Hull Water Treatment Plant, 900 Main St. Hingham MA.

South Shore Hospital, 55 Fogg Rd, and Old South Union Church, 25 Columbian St both in South Weymouth MA photographed from Buck Hill.

The communication tower is located at 60 Columbian St, Braintree MA. It is the former MA State Lottery office and the building was property was purchased by Mass General Brigham in 2021.

The houses that are visible on the lower left, from left to right 1054 Liberty St, 18, 22 and 28 Forest St and 47 Sycamore Rd. The house in the lower right is 11 Trainor Dr. All of the house are in Braintree MA.

The Weymouth Fore River Bridge (between Quincy and Weymouth) photographed from Buck Hill.

There is so much that can be identified in this photo. In between the two bridge towers and going off to the right are buildings in Weymouthport Condominiums. In the foreground are two office buildings in Braintree Hill Park. To the left, there are many identifiable houses in Braintree and Quincy. On the upper left is World's End in Hingham, which is a beautiful park managed by the Trustees of Reservations. To the right of that is a splash of houses in Hingham, none of which I could identify but seem to be near Nantasket Beach.

Weir River Farm in Hingham MA photographed from Buck Hill.

At least a couple of buildings on the farm are clearly visible as well as a water tower and two cell/communication towers. According to the property map, there is an old Nike Site radar building near the cell towers, but I cannot spot that.

At the bottom of the frame is the steeple of The First Church in Weymouth which happens to be directly in front of the only house visible in the area, which I have guessed is at 34 Vernon St, Weymouth.
