And of course, after the Cloud PC had to be reprovisioned, clipboard and drive redirection from host PC to remote PC are disabled by default. Gee, thanks Microsoft! Of course I wanted to spend time in Intune wonderland to unblock basic RDP stuff.🔐

Me, I bought an ASUS ExpertCenter mini PC with N100, 32GB, 2TB SSD for €360 a few months ago. Runs Ubuntu, sits locally on my desk and costs zero euros per month. Haven't had to wipe the OS and apps clean so far. NetBird gives access from anywhere.

I'm not a Linux guy at all but with the way the cloud is going, better learn it now...

Windows 365 seems to deliver a "Cloud PC" experience all too well. My standard MS image VM got stuck and couldn't be restored. Now, I'm torching it and starting from scratch.

Just like owning a PC, except you pay a monthly fee.

Why did I have #Windows365 Cloud PC to begin with? Because an #MSpartner benefits package I pay for includes one "free" Windows 365 Enterprise, 8 vCPU, 32 GB RAM, 512 GB Storage VM.

At least I now know not run anything important on it, or invest time in configuring it.

Hoffentlich gibt's hierzulande auch mal ein Nachrechnen und Risikoabschätzungen, sodass langfristig planende Entscheider mehr und mehr sich am Beispiel Italien, Frankreich und Dänemark orientieren und Microsoft adieu sagen, um mehr Kontrolle in finanzieller als auch technischer Art zu bekommen. Nebenbei auch von #Ransomware als Risiko vermehrt wegzukommen.
