Zabbix Monitor für macOS
Bereits von einiger Zeit - ich würde mal 9 Monate schätzen - war ich auf der Suche nach einem kleinen Tool, welches in der macOS-Menubar einen gewissen Überblick über Probleme gibt, welche Zabbix erkannt hat. Damals habe ich nichts gefunden und war sogar schon soweit, dass ich mit xCode versucht habe, mir mein eigenes Tool zu schreiben. Dass müsste auch soweit funktioniert haben, doch ich scheiterte an der Authentifizierung meiner kleinen App am Zabbix-Server. Da ich bei der Problematik dann auch nicht weitergekommen bin, hat sich das Thema bei mir wieder im Sand verlaufen. Nun fiel mir mein Ansatz von damals wieder ein und begab mich erneut auf die Suche, mit dem Ergebnis, dass ich nun ein Tool gefunden habe, was in etwa das macht, was ich mir damals gewünscht habe. Der "Zabbix Monitor for macOS" erstellt einen Eintrag in der Mac Menüleiste, zeigt aber leider dort nicht gleich an, viele Probleme mit einem gewissen Schweregrad vorhanden sind.

@patnat @homelab_de Eigentlich braucht man nicht mehr als #Zabbix. Grafana malt die sehr viel schöneren Grafiken, stimmt. Und kann Zabbix als Datenquelle nutzen.

For all the little guys who want to have their infrastructure under control, I would like to inform you that I took the trouble to compile the Zabbix installation packages for the 32-bit #ARM, i.e. for the Raspberry PI2
No one will probably use the Zabbix server on such weak hardware, but the Zabbix proxy works on my RPi2 with 1Gb of ram without any problems, so I can imagine that it could work for someone else too.
So if you need to monitor, like me, a /26 network and don't want to dedicate a gluttonous old PC to it or speculate on which virtual machine to use, reach for your good old Raspberry and give it a new purpose and life.
