Wie geht Ihr bei der #Vinyl-#Digitalisierung vor?
Ich lasse die beiden Seiten in #Audacity-Projektdatei reinlaufen. Am Schreibtisch "schneide" ich dann die einzelnen Tracks raus und konvertiere jeden Song in #flac und #mp3. Anschließend kommt die Detailarbeit mit Dateiname, Tracknummer, Band, Titelname etc.
Gibt es andere Ideen oder Erfahrungen, um den Prozess bei gleich bleibender Qualität zu beschleunigen?

Okay, this isn't entirely accurate (the 89-commit PR does exist, see https://github.com/audacity/audacity/pull/4668) as I don't have to merge this. Just trying to understand some past changes in more recent #Audacity versions.

I'll just try reading the code myself. This is another classic case of me being lazy 😛

Ça ne m'arrange pas plus que ça.

Est ce quelqu'un aurait une solution ? Y a-t-il un logiciel de montage sous #linux (je suis sous cachyos) plus performant pour ce type de problème ?

Audacity von #flathub installiert, ok, läuft. Sogar das Audio Interface wird erkannt, zweite Hürde geschafft. Vinyls aufnehmen, ich drücke auf Record, ok funktioniert. Ich drücke auf Stop. Audacity wirft Fehler und muss beendet werden. Nach Neustart kann das Projekt fortgesetzt werden, die Aufnahme war dann auch fast immer da. Nicht cool und shit, den es in der #Windows Welt so nicht gibt! :-(

¿Alguna alternativa a #audacity que sea decente? Llevaba usándolo desde hace años pero desde que lo adquirió nosequé empresa lo evité.

Audacity is really cool. I came across a video detailing use of the Envelope tool to shape soundwave volume to create shapes. This seems totally like how you make cool sci-fi sounds of days yore (with more complicated, analogue tools, of course, I’m sure.

I was even able to “remaster” a recording from a record recently that sounded like it was playing over a tiny radio.

Basically, I’m fascinated with it. Here’s my first experiment. It uses three generated tones (sine, triangle, and square) that I’ve shaped for an interesting blend of tones. I can imagine some kind of fantastical scanning device makes this sound.

This is very basic experimentation. I haven’t even explored more complex stuff yet, but it’s interesting. The tones are kinda loud (I need to learn about good volume levels—I only know not to let the sound wave off the board nor the level go into the red), eardrums beware.

because i haven't escaped pop!os yet, which is based on ubuntu 22.04, my packaged version of #audacity is 2.4.2. in flatpak it's 3.7.3. but i vaguely remember some enshittification in the 3.x series. is there a final version that i should install and not update beyond ?

Ich digitalisiere derzeit mal wieder einige alte Vinyls für die #DJ Musikkollektion, da ist es essentiell ein gutes Werkzeug zur audio Bearbeitung zu haben. Mit #audacity am Laptop A wird aufgenommen, und auf Rechner B in ocenaudio bearbeitet und finalisiert.
Geht mega gut! Danke für dieses grandiose Werkzeug! Einziges Manko: Beide Rechner noch mit Windows, die Gewohnheit siegt hier noch. :-/

That treasured gem seems to die in any moment. No wonder: it was released in 1985. Yes, 40 years old now. Wanted to make a copy to my laptop but found out that it don't have a line-in port for my walkman. Need to find a way SOON.
