The classic cycle of consumer electronics:
Someone in 2020: "I have been waiting in this line for 2 hours to get the brand new MacBook PRO for $1500 omg you guys *taps the apple logo like It's the logo in front of an expensive sports car* It has a new M1 chip that does all the computery stuff!! and the new MacOS looks so modern~"
*The laptop ends up barely used and is stored in its cardboard box until 2026*
Me, 2026: *Waiting for a secondhand M1 Macbook I paid $600 for to arrive in the mail, so that I can uninstall MacOS and install #asahilinux on it*
Some student in 2032: Yooo! i just got this *slaps top of the macbook* sick computer real cheap! We can use it for watching Netflix or some cool shit!
Some museum in 2060: This here was the computer that really began the transition to RISC architecture in laptop computers. We dont know why but it has some weird version of Linux installed. It was probably bought as part of some ancient ritual and used on a "data center" or some research facility.
