A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for Gogebic, Iron, and Ontonagon counties until 6 a.m. (Central Standard Time) on Thursday, December 12, 2024 for 5 to 14 inches of snowfall due to lake effect snow showers. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for this same time period for Ashland and Bayfield counties, where 3 to 6 inches of snowfall is forecasted.

The satellite and radar over the Northland at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, shows some sunshine over the Twin Ports, I-35 corridor, and the western half of northwest Wisconsin. Cloud cover persists elsewhere, with lake effect snow showers persisting on the South Shore region.
