Help needed to shorten shift times and cover some posts where illness has taken some radio operators out of commission.

The Kodiak Ultra Marathon by UTMB is scheduled to take place in Big Bear October 11-13. That's next week! We are still in need of a few radio operators willing to brave the nights and elements to help keep runners safe on course.

This is an international trail run for 5 distances up to 100 miles. Yep! On foot. During the night. Rain, shine or snow! Runners have 36 hours to complete the 100 mile event, while the first runner will probably arrive in less than 18 hours. Approximately 2000 runners will be coming from all over the world to race.

We will have some aid stations which are easy access, some with more difficult access and some with overnight requirements. We also need volunteers to help out at Net Control which will be in the ICP at the Holiday Inn. (Timbers room, if you recall from the HamEscape! ;-) Non-hams are welcome to join us as scribes (loggers). The only requirement for logging is to be computer literate (basic Excel) or have good handwriting.

Also, if anyone is willing to hike 3.5 miles to the top of Sugarloaf Summit and spend about 20+ hours there, we could also use help at that location. It really takes someone hardy! A non-ham can even do this post with a cell phone.
