#BikeTooter friends, I'm looking for advice on adding a BT tracker to a bike. Thinking about it after reading this Reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/bikeboston/comments/1gtonde/stolen_bike_but_thanks_to_airtag_i_recovered_it/
I'm not an iPhone user, so #AirTags are probably not for me -- although I guess I could register one on an iPad, and check its location by logging into iCloud on a different mobile device? Google launched a competing "Find My Device" network this year, but my impression from reviews is that it's not yet very reliable at pinpointing tracker location.
I've browsed devices by Tile, Pebblebee, Chipolo, but I don't know which trackers hold up best to 4-season biking. Is it reasonable to stick one inside an aluminum frame tube? It'd be cool to hide a tracker under this cage-mount cover: https://www.elevationlab.com/products/tagvault-bike , but it would need to be the same dimensions as an AirTag (Chipolo's round trackers are 6mm wider in diameter, Pebblebees are teardrop-shaped, Tiles are rectangular).
