Just noticed my MS Office programs are still using #Calibri as the default #typeface . MS changed to
#Aptos as the default a year ago. Why are my apps still on the old fonts? I Dl'ed Aptos but can't find a way to change default in #MSWord . Suggestions?

OK, I've now mopped most of my old #ebook catalogue on my computer in a #Calibri library.

Only small problem is that it's missing like 10 years of purchases because I got lazy, so for now, those books are only in the cloud.

But maybe soon they'll be here too. Yay.

Just as a warmup I downloaded the few bits of classic D&D modules I bought ages ago from DriveThruRPG and stuck them in. Good that they're not DRMed!

I'm all for it. Aptos is a sleek and modern sans-serif font.
Switching from Calibri to Aptos is a step towards design fitting for 2024.
But I'm looking forward for more visual upgrades in the Office suite.

I really wish #Microsoft hadn't decided to change from #Calibri to "#Aptos" as the default in PowerPoint. Every time I re-use a slide in a new presentation, there's a much higher chance of some stupid formatting problem unless I remember to switch back to Calibri in the new doc.

I missed the switchover from #Calibri to #Aptos. Mostly because I never seek out using #Microsoft office crud; and my office used their own preferred font in Outlook.

I had noticed that my email font was changed but it was so similar to what we were using before I didn't really notice.

Turns out MS finally kicked Calibri to the curb. Which is delightful. Because Calibri sucks, it always sucked. Calibri is 'Business #ComicSans' and you can't tell me otherwise. I'm glad it's dead.

Between this and Pepsi finally getting rid of their idiot smirk branding, my graphic design anxiety is at an all time low.

I know it's weird picking on #fonts , but I really don't care for #cantarell It's *fine* but it's not a font that looks good being looked at every day, such as the #GNOME desktop. I recently discovered the #inter font and after using it as my general GUI font for the past two weeks, it's incredible how much more legible it is.

In a #Windows context, it's like comparing #calibri to #segoe One is fine, and the other is hands down better.

I despise the fact that Calibri is the default font of Microsoft Office because it renders so terribly on Linux unless you make the font pretty big.

I like Aptos, a new cloud font created by Microsoft for their Office tools. I liked it enough to switch from Calibri to Aptos as my default font in email/docs/spreadsheet.
