A successful return to trail running, finally, since my ankle injury last spring! No new injuries! Felt much better than I expected, and made nearly 10 km!

Huskies had a lot of fun too. We met 1.5 huskies along the way: one very friendly black-and-white Siberian and one white German shepherd-husky cross who was conflicted between play and fight.

It was crisp, and the first time that Tonttu did NOT submerge himself in the water, despite several opportunities! I guess he was cool enough.

A trail runner pauses for a selfie with the pair of huskies that he's running with refreshing themselves in a shallow lake on which brown oak leaves are floating. The runner is dressed for cool weather with long sleeves and a thin head band. Sporty sunglasses rest on his forehead and he's wearing a running vest with a water hose coiling from the back around his upper chest.

Da kommt also noch was. Den Anfang macht mein Lieblingsfoto vom Zielhindernis von Van Luettjen

Well done Maxi, first parkrun smashed-what a lovely morning!

Late run when rain turned to snow! Huskies were in their element. My legs feel to be coming back towards their former form. Not there yet, but promising progress!

I love how husky fur is hydrophobic, at least in crystaline form: snow sits on the outer edges of the fur, ready to fly off with just a bit of a shake. If one feels it's worth the bother -- huskies don't mind carrying a dusting of snow with them!

Two huskies lead the way, running down a paved path running parallel to a road through a suburban neighborhood. Both huskies are connected to the runner and photographer by a bright orange split lead. The whole scene is whitened by a steady fall of snow that has not quite fully covered the grass and leaves on either side of the path. The huskies pause on the path farther down than the previous photo. They're each covered with a light coating of snow. The paved path is now cold enough to start getting a slushy buildup of snow on top which shows dark canine footprints. Zeena, up front, has her eyes squinted shut and mouth in a happy husky grin. Tonttu, in the back, is giving his nose a lick.Zeena pauses in close-up along the path next to a bit of wild prairie grass and plants dry for winter and covered in a light layer of snow. Zeena's head, back and harness are likewise covered with a light layer of snow crystals.Another shot of Zeena in profile standing on the side of the trail, revealing that the snow frosting goes all the way down her back, which has dark guard hairs covering a light undercoat, to her fluffy white tail.
