@mansr now @Tusky replaces that with an error message citing Mastodon issue #25398 which seems to be a sort-of #cantfix / #wontfix aka. 'It'll only get fixed if @Gargron feels like wanting to fix it gor real.'...
@0x40k well, #Microsoft to this day has a #Backdoor in the #CryptoAPI that remains unfixed to this day...
@izaya that's something you can configure in your client...
I just enshure my posts can be found.
I am not responsible for anyone's inability and/or unwillingness to configure their #ActivityPub / #Fediverse client/account properly.
Please go and complain at the maintainers of your software and (plitely!) annoy them (and not me!) into fixing whatever needs to be fixed...
@ixi that's likely a.#CantFix by @MastodonEngineering due to the fact that this would require to manually check if the post is a reply and if said post it was replied to is still there.
Further complicating things is that it can't distinguish between standalone.posts w/ mentions and replies to deleted posts!
@Radical_EgoCom @JenWithGravy @hapbt @CatDragon
Then you have #Syndicatism and #Cooperativism, not #Anarchism!
Again: The most crucial problems are:
1. "How do we get there?"
2. "How do we prevent power-hungry assholes from destroying it?"
And so far noone has provided a solution for neother of those important problems.
As long as these remain "#NotInventedHere" and/or "#CantFix" and/or "#WontFix" that utopia won't materialize!
I'm not really happy to see that #Wordpress seems to use fearmongering, maybe to promote #Jetpack's paid security features.
Of the two security issues labelled as "critical" that I'm asked to fix, one is in Wordpress' core code, so it's a #cantfix.
The other is a feature in a plugin that I occasionally need and deactivate otherwise. #wontfix
Then, there are two issues labelled "performance". Both could only be fixed by the webhoster. #cantfix
