Scale AI, a company that works closely with #OpenAI and recently sold a 49% share to #Meta for £11 billion, has pioneered a new kind of #data labelling. While such tasks have been typically outsourced to low-wage #workers in lower-income countries, reports indicate that Scale’s workforce now includes a high percentage of highly educated contributors. 12% hold PhDs and over 40% possess a master’s degree, law degree or equivalent qualification.

Is this a sign that those with advanced degrees are increasingly being drawn into the ranks of precarious labour?
