COSMIC is still far from perfect and, even just from a design standpoint limited to things I've touched, I can nitpick a lot. I can see that a lot of work that I've done hasn't changed much since I worked at the company. Some other things have marginal improvements, and some even have changes that have gone closer to my original idea since the initial meat-processing rounds of coming to a team consensus. I wish that I had more time to address, revisit, or rework ideas where I had some skepticism, such as the side panel, or ideas that I feel aren't currently being used to their full potential or feel rushed, like the left panel often used for navigation. Some ideas are yet unpolished and feel shallow (corner radii and density features aren't fully examined from a systems level and look odd optically in some contexts, like the Dock). Other ideas of mine are ones that I had prototyped but were neutered even before user testing due to what any mature design organization would instantly recognize as slight structural dysfunction. And there are so, so many tiling enhancements that I would have loved to dive into further!
But this is still an early project, with a lot of potential ahead of it, from a smaller organization. Frankly, for my needs, it's hard to imagine using anything outside of COSMIC or a tiling window manager. I hope the community keeps carrying this project forward.
