Okay, technically the run isn’t part of the Paris Beer Festival… However, the Paris hashers made it a tradition to end the run in the festival week at the beer festival. Obviously, I joined them for this run!

Big and bold, lots of flavors at play from charred oak, bourbon snap, chocolate, coffee, dark fruits (cherry?), and a hint of nuttiness on the finish. ABV 13.8%

While the Paris Beer Festival actually is a whole week of activities, it culminates in a more classic beer festival—brewery stands in a big hall, where you get your tasting glass filled—in the weekend at the end of that week.

It had somehow not occurred to me previously that if it’s hard to find shops that sell a variety of #craftBeer where you live, you can simply go online and pay an exorbitant amount of money to have said beer shipped to your house.
I may have gotten a little carried away…
Oregon Homegrown is a new #beer collaboration project put together by #CelebrateOregonBeer. Two dozen breweries collaborated with nine hop farms, Indie Hops, and Wyeast Laboratories to craft a variety of beers featuring Strata hops. The beers will be available at a series of tap takeovers around the state, the first of which starts this Memorial Day weekend in Portland.

#UPPLiquids is the newest brewing venture from industry veteran Tonya Cornett, officially launching in #BendOregon this week in partnership with #ImmersionBrewing. Cornett joined Bend Brewing Company in 2002 and more recently was the R&D brewmaster at 10 Barrel Brewing before being unexpectedly laid off along with the rest of the innovation brewing team last September.

Mad Scientist's "liquid cocaine" - fragrance like a summer meadow, tastes like camomile tea - very smooth for a DIPA and fantastic, 9%
Lough Gill "Spear " imperial stout - like a black forest cake that wasn't bought in the cheap freezer section. Really nice , packs at punch at 13%
Flight at Stadsbrouwerij in Leiden. Great experience with very fragrant beers.
"Woody barrelson": nice and subtle green flavour of burning wet leaves with an afterhint of plastic and wormwood .
"SBH Belgian Tripel" This a tripel that is confused whether it might be a sour after all. Dry banana and apricot , toilet air freshener , sweetness of licorice and the bitterness of laurel leaves.
"KopjeChino milk stout" our favorite by far. Super smooth with coffee licorice and milk chocolate kinderegg.
