Considering that the UK reduced their CO2 emissions by over 5% in 2023, I'm not certain that statements that we're "making no progress in stopping the #ClimateCrisis " are going to help provide people with the confidence that they should make the effort to help get more #ClimateAction

Who is actually saying that we can’t do anything about climate change and thus we’re doomed?
Did you know that Greece doubled the amount of electricity produced without burning fossil fuels since 2014?
I somewhat doubt it since positve news about our response to global warming doesn't generate clicks or much interest which is why doomerism is growing imo.
Anyways, now you know that Greece appears to be well on its way to meeting its pollution-reduction goals after celebrating a major milestone in 2023.

Since doomerism encourages business-as-usual, you can be certain that it is going to be widely promoted now that outright climate science denialism has become so much less effective sadly.
So, now we can write off the 10% on the far-left that will fall for their lies along with the 10% on the far-right that will go to their graves believing that climate scientists are in a vast conspiracy to fool everyone.
We'll just have to work around them I reckon.

I just noticed that @hausfath shared a graph that helps explain why I try to counter the doomers efforts to convince people that we don't have a chance.
It's a long story, but back when I learned about global warming, I watched as nobody would take the threat seriously and carbon emissions just kept increasing and then finally around 2010 we started making progress.
Have we done enough? Hell no, but there is good reason to believe we can do better.
