Are the formatting templates #Draft2Digital offers exclusive to books it distributes, or may the header and break images from there be used for books that go through another distributor?

Question for #Smashwords publishers and authors:

How long does it take for your ebook to show up on the site after submitting it through #Draft2Digital?

Doing this for the firat time, I don't know how often I should be checking for the book to appear. Daily? Weekly? The lack of info is causing stress.

On May 10, Draft2Digital is adding charges to payouts through PayPal and check options.

• PayPal (U.S.) will charge 2.5% with a total not to exceed $1.50
• PayPal (International) will charge 2.5% with a total not to exceed $25.00
• Check (U.S.) $2.50 flat fee
• Check (International) $4.00 flat fee

There are no fees for Direct Deposit or Payoneer options.

Is KDP Select/KU just a backdoor path to Amazon monopoly?

Have any authors done comparisons between publishing wide (maybe Draft2Digital/Kobo Plus VS KDP/KDP Select) for initial releases?

I know some authors just pick one thing and stick with it. And some genre's are almost exclusively KDP Select these days.

Interested to know if it is such a vastly different market share for your genre that it isn't worth it. And if it is worrying that your exclusivity benefits Bezos.

Huh. Well that's a policy that either slipped by me or isn't clearly stated on the #Draft2Digital web site. Guess folks better get those Thirsty First samplers quickly... before they are taken down everywhere. In the meantime, I'll reach out find out what the actual rules are.

I discovered today that there was at least one Books2Read issue for Following My Siren's Thorns. It linked to Kobo through the ISBN but that doesn't work. The book is on Kobo. I edited that link.

I now have to go through each link on all three books I've published so far to make sure there aren't similar issues going on. I've also found that Books2Read tends to find non-existent copies of my books in an Australian publisher that D2D doesn't offer for my books.

Can't do those checks this morning. More stuff for my publishing checklist. @indieauthors
