I thought that I ran out of ports on the switch, but after re-arranging the cables, it turned out that there were some empty slots (2+1) on the lower half, but at least I don't need to worry for the future now.

It's a pity that they didn't have the blue one anymore though. The new one is 4 years younger, but the model number is lower.

Although, it is very likely that they are the exact same thing under the hood.

3/4 of my current internet setup. On the top-shelf we have my MikroTik hAP ac3 router. Next to it is my new ARRIS SURFboard SB8200, which I bought so I would no longer need to rent a modem (I was already running my own router and AP). Finally, my new TP-Link ethernet switch is on the lower shelf. Not pictured is my realatively cheap TP-Link wireless access point. I wrote two articles about my new modem. The first covered my surprisingly positive ISP experience and the second covered incorrect instructions provided by ARRIS for accessing the modem's admin UI.

Swapping out an older 5port DLink #EthernetSwitch for a new 8port TPLink one. Had a suspicion that it wasn't working reliably, so hoping this resolves that.

Pulling cable around the basement, and re-organizing #networking stuff is a not-unpleasant task for certain kinds of people.

Would probably feel differently doing it all day, but for an hour here and there, it's a satisfying chore.
