Pregunta sobre #fdroid ¿Alguien ha probado el navegador #fennec? Hasta donde entiendo es firefox (que no está en f-droid) con cosas deshabilitadas por defecto y cambios estéticos y de nombre, pero no encuentro nada realmente específico que diga qué es diferente o si vale la pena.

Aiming for a February release, I managed to get RomanDigital 3.0.0 out in the nick of time (Feb 28, 23:31 UTC). The release replaces exact-alarm-based widget updating with service-based widget updating responsive to Android's time tick signal, improving widget time reliability while reducing battery consumption. Also, in response to a feature request, it adds typeface selection of app and widget(s) time display.
This version really *does* fix the problem on Android OS's with aggressive battery optimization like XOS that version 2.2.1 was intended to fix, as verified by an XOS user.

There ARE alternatives to the classic "Play Store" app. Among others, /e/ uses something called "App Lounge" which contains fdroid.org AND the regular "Play Store", but as anonymously as possible.
The iodé version of the "Play Store" was called "Aurora Store" and as far as i can tell, it does the same.
I have however been bitten by my bank app that checked for an installed cameo "Play Store" (faked by the system) AND a valid Google account configured there. It should however be possible to use an alternative mail address to create a #Google account and use that.
Not sure what happens to this contraption once access to the "Play Store" gets restricted. Works fine now.
Amazon and, afaik, huawei offer app stores as well, but...
Your mileage may vary. I DO hope however that #Europe will come up with similar infrastructure some day.

37 Organisationen — darunter CCC, F-Droid, KDE, Nextcloud, Tor Project und EFF — haben Google in einem offenen Brief aufgefordert, die geplante Pflichtregistrierung für Android-Entwickler zurückzunehmen.
Besonders brisant: Punkt 4 des Briefes warnt, dass Google damit die Möglichkeit bekommt, jede App auf allen Android-Geräten weltweit zu sperren — ohne transparente Begründung, ohne Einspruchsmöglichkeit, per Knopfdruck. Eine einzige unkontrollierbare Konzernentscheidung als globaler App-Schalter. 🔴
