Spent the entire weekend mowing a permaculture farm. All of the 20 odd people there were kind, intelligent, and completely willing and able to solve the climate-, biodiversity- and social crises.

Great and welcome antidote to cynicism.

Let's spend our privilege more in the field doing good, and less online complaining about the bad.

A field in Zeeland, the Netherlands, with a young forest in the background. The field is partially mowed with a scythe resulting in typical irregular rows of mowed grass and herbs. Mowers have worked around an old boat that has been laying in the grass for a long time and is now revealed to the viewer again. In front of the background forest is a small well maintained metal windmill… not a typical dutch one, but a more modern one that was also common the USA in the last century. Above the scene is an overcast sky. Ominous clouds filling the entire sky in view predict a rainstorm, and show some rain over the forest behind the windmill. Most of the scene is still lit by the early evening sun from behind.

@mitchw @pluralistic would be interesting to check what happened to the profits of supplying farmers in parallel. We can guess of course...
