I have this noname #USBmidi cable. It works class compliant out of the box on #Linux / #UbuntuStudio 24.04. A tiny LED on the USB plug shows incoming MIDI, which I can also see in #GMIDImonitor after routing it in #Patchance. (#Pipewire audio system.)

On #MacOS I am lost. The tiny LED does not light up on incoming MIDI. Apparently this USB device is not even activated by the OS.

It also cannot by detected in “audio midi setup”.

I mean, this is OSX, the supposedly easy OS for creative people… what's going on?

EDIT: It turns out that this might be not an OSX problem. The USB MIDI does not show up as soon as the MIDI is plugged in. I guess this is a leakage current problem which might in the end even destroy USB ports. Power supplies without ground connections are prone to this error (those by Apple, too). A MIDI interface should be opto-coupled, but many actually aren't.

Voraussetzung: leicht und halbwegs lichtstark und kostet mich max 800 €
Über 1 kg bin ich definitiv raus, weil dann nehme ich es nie mit.

Das Neue von Canon (Canon RF 75-300mm f4-5,6 ) zerreißen sie ja geradezu.

Sigma 16-300mm f3,5-6,7 DC OS (C) Canon RF Mount

Canon RF 100-400mm f5,6-8 IS USM

Bis 150mm habe ich.

So the latest version of #PeerTube recommends locking the peertube user (chsh -s /usr/bin/nologin peertube), but I back up the database by using `su - peertube` then `pg_dump -U peertube Fc peertube_prod > peertube_prod-dump.db` and exporting that .db to a backup location. So how am I supposed to back up my database now if I'm not supposed to access that user account?

This is the weirdest. There's a website that doesn't load in private mode but loads in normal browsing mode. What could possibly be the reason?

#fediHelp because searching for relevant keywords only finds information about the *opposite* situation (site loading in incognito but not in normal browsing). #firefox if it matters.

EDIT: (not really) resolved, in the sense that it seems to be some server misconfiguration, it fails in any new browser context, with or without privacy mode enabled.
