I've been messing around with focus stacking for some years, but the results I got with Hugin were not quite satisfactory.

It's slightly past its best - which gives it much more character. (possibly a picture that says as much about the photographer as subject.)

zu sehen sind zwei rosa Blüten eines Rosmarins. Jede Blüte ist ca. 2mm groß, also winzig und trotzdem sind sie durchgänig scharf zu erkennen, was an einer speziellen Fototechnik liegt. Die Form der Kronenblätter gleicht einem Schuh ohne Sohle, die nach oben zeigen würde. Aus dem Zentrum der Blüte sind jeweils zwei Staubblätter gewachsen, an deren gebogenen Enden je ein geöffneter Pollensack hängt. Die einzelnen, gelben Pollen sind als winzige Kugeln gut zu erkennen.

The same photo of a fly as in the previous post but now the contrast and color saturation are higher and the image slightly cropped so the fly looks slightly bigger.

Today I tried #ShineStacker (https://shinestacker.wordpress.com) – new open source focus stacker and it works! Stacked my hand-held fly shots on default settings with no problems, something I couldn’t achieve with Hugin tools (but my #Olympus #em5mark3 could with OOC jpeg).

Here's one of my better macro shots. It's from some small spring blossom. Shot in 2017 with a vintage Vivitar macro (and I guess a Raynox 250) and focus-stacked.
