Massachusetts Bay, Surface Interval.
Boston, 2015 — Rolleiflex 2.8E; E-6.
The fluke signs the air in spray and the sea erases it—one breath permitted, then jurisdiction restored—dark water closing the file as if a body were only a rumour between waves.

If you couldn't tell, I've been photographing a lot of Scottish mountains lately. Here's one from a rather turbulent day on a remote peak in the northwest highlands. There's something about the folklore and history of these spaces that deeply interests me. Images like these where you are battling the elements seem to capture a little bit of that feeling and emotion.

A scenic, winding dirt path leading up a gentle grassy slope into a wooded area under a dramatic blue sky filled with large white cumulus clouds. Several small figures are walking along the path or nearby.A sun-dappled, dense forest scene. Four tall tree trunks, many covered in thick ivy, stand in the foreground against a background of bright yellow-green foliage and sunlit clearings. The ground is covered in dark green leaves and patches of sunlight.A path through a forest lined with bright green and yellow autumn trees, forming a natural archway. Two people stand on the right, looking at a wooden information board. The path is covered in fallen brown leaves.

I’ve been seeing a number of these long-tailed skipper #butterflies in my front #garden the past week or so. Seems to be consistent with previous years - more of them around in early autumn. Love their blueish coloring but they’re difficult to photograph since they tend to alight only briefly & flit away so fast.
